The therapeutic process with children is realized in a way that the therapist at the first session meets with the parents only in order to take anamnesis and get all the necessary information about the development of the child and the problem that the child and the family face. After that, the psychologist observe the child through therapeutic work in order to evaluate all the aspects of child’s development and fully understand the causes of the problem and the ways in which the child reacts to the problem. All collected data represent the basis for developing a strategy of therapeutic work which is agreed upon with parents after observation. The strategy of the therapeutic work clearly defines the problems and causes as well as the goals and methods of therapeutic work in order to help the child. Therapeutic work often involves educating and advising parents on the best responses to the behavior of the child.
