Professor Senija Tahirović has PhD in psychology. Her undergraduate and postgraduate education took place in Sarajevo. The topics of her undergraduate, specialist and PhD theses were in the field of child psychology and psychopathology. She participated in a large number of trainings and education organized by various international organizations, and was a key guest speaker on numerous international and national conferences and trainings.

She spent her working life with children or working on behalf of children both in policy and program design, managing international organizations dedicated to children and in direct therapeutic work with children and adolescents. She has many years of experience as a university professor where she teaches subjects in the field of child psychology and psychopathology as well as therapeutic techniques in working with children. She has published a large number of books and scientific papers in relevant scientific and professional publications.

Her field of expertise is the therapeutic work with children and youth with the use of play therapy, counseling with parents, assistance to children and parents in the process of adoption or fostering and parents' education on topics in the field of child psychology and psychopathology.
